The George Washington Carver Science Fair Lady Techie Award is our recognition of how a young lady has incorporated information technology into her science project. This aspect is one part of the Pyramid STEM Challenge – to encourage and expose our youth. What better way to spark an interest and awareness and increase the number of women and African Americans STEM careers. Here is Ta’Liyah Thomas, our first winner at the elementary level. Me (2nd from left) and her parents join her.

Our 2013 Pyramid STEM Showcase
Our Pyramid STEM Showcase, Feb 16th, was a success. A few hundred attendees enjoyed speakers, exhibitors, giveaways and entertainment by LAK the Hip Hop Educator. The children were busy doing science projects – making spaghetti structures, slime and other things. The mini–Space Shuttle and a glove box was on display – “flown” in from NASA. Others tried their skills at a few brainteasers and talked with the many exhibitors and information tables on hand – Visit their links here.
